Homelessness has increased in the last years due to the economic crisis, even in the countries with the most advanced welfare states. According to United Nations, 100 million people are homeless worldwide and one billion more live in substandard houses, and in Europe , 400,000 people live on the street.
Access to housing is a major structural problem. In order to give a response to this problem, we participate in international projects such as:
The Hub is a European platform aiming at developing and promoting the implementation of the Housing First model in Europe. The initiative carries out activities to combat and generate specific knowledge on the Housing First methodology, It integrates good practices, analyzes results, assesses and develops the model that has meant a revolution in the way in which homelessness is tackled worldwide. European cities involved
The European End Street Homelessness is a campaign wanting to eradicate the most severe homelessness cases in European cities. Principles of the campaign
We are part of the HOME_EU,Homelessness as Unfairness, project together with eleven European entities. With this initiative, we want to know what European citizens, care services and homeless people themselves think about homelessness . By analyzing the social policies responding to homelessness we want to propose a series of recommendations for the European institutions in order to act at political and legislative level.
Countries committed to providing evidence to boost Housing First in European policies
We are an organization member of FEANTSA, the European Federation of organizations working with homeless people, and its goal is to eradicate homelessness in Europe. In order to do so, we advocate with other European institutions to implement solutions, gather data and disseminate research, promote the exchange of information and good practices and we carry out awareness raising actions on the problem of homelessness.
This Project is developed since 2015 in order to share knowledge and lessons learned on how loyal the Housing First programs are to the original model and what are the adaptations made in the different countries. 11 countries participate and develop the Housing First model. The results of this research transnational project will be available by 2018.
More and more entities commit to solve a social problem as severe as homelessness. Your collaboration is key so that no one lives on the street.
