The street kills but indifference kills even more. We can eradicate homelessness if we all together say “Hogar, Sí”.

I have been embarked in HOGAR SÍ’ adventure for 20 years. I learnt form its founder that indignation due to existence of homelessness can become a passion to eradicate it. Today I am still indignant and passionate.

How can we allow that systematic violation of human rights? When have we normalized the fact that there are people living on the street? These are the questions I ask myself over and over again. These are the questions that move me in the fight against homelessness.

Defining ourselves as human beings and ignoring the suffering of the people who have lost everything is incompatible. Joint us in our fight against homelessness.

I do not want to get used to living in a society violating the basic rights of people. Rights that allow to live – and not survive- and are protected by our Constitution.

I am motivated by the conviction that all united we can create a better and fairer society. The responsibility of acting to contribute to that objective and the certainty that every contribution adds, brings us closer to the result.

Since I got here I have only reaffirmed the reasons that led me to embark on this project. We work for a fair cause, we are determined and we look for the tools allowing us to generate the changes that will bring homelessness to an end.

Women, men and youngsters falling in homelessness. They live and die on the street. Every day, I have the opportunity to fight so that that story does not repeat. I fight against homelessness.

I believe homelessness is the most radical expression of exclusion in our society and therefore, I believe that by fighting for those people whose rights are violated we will be more capable of transforming the social structures.

Fighting against homelessness is accompanying people to rediscover their vital meaning and to live as full-right citizens; in a nutshell, working to create a fairer and more aware society.

I do not want to live in a society in which seeing someone sleeping on the street is something common and leaves us indifferent or makes us feel rejection. I want everybody to have a house and access to all the existing resources both social and health; to become full-right citizens.

At HOGAR SÍ I share the fight to eradicate homelessness, one of the worst attacks against the dignity of people: the people living on the street that we pass by looking away. On the other hand, in HOGAR SÍ we celebrate and accompany the new vital projects originated from our joint work.
